เรื่องราวของ โม่เต๋อเซียน ช่างประกอบในโรงงานและครอบครัว พร้อมด้วยเหล่าผู้คนที่ต้องพากันหลบหนีไปยังเมืองเล็ กๆ ที่สวยงามลึกเข้าไปในหุบเขาหลังการล่มสลายของหนานจิง แต่แล้วโชคชะตากลับทำให้พบกับทหารต่างชาติที่หลงเข้า มาในพื้นที่และถูกบังคับให้ตกอยู่ในสถานการณ์ที่สิ้น หวัง พวกเขาจึงจำเป็นต้องรวมตัวกันลุกขึ้นมาต่อต้านเหล่าศ ัตรูผู้รุกรานก่อนที่ทุกอย่างจะสายเกินไป
