โยชิเอะ กับสามีของเธอ ทาดะฮิโกะ ได้สูญเสียลูกสาววัย 5 ขวบไป ขณะที่พวกเขากำลังพยายามฟื้นตัวจากความเศร้าโศกและกล ับมาเข้มแข็งอีกครั้ง ก็ได้พบกับตุ๊กตาแสนน่ารักตัวหนึ่ง ที่มีลักษณะคล้ายกับเมอิมาก ๆ จึงได้ซื้อมาจากตลาดขายของเก่ามาเก็บไว้ แต่เมื่อ มาอิ ลูกสาวที่เกิดใหม่ของพวกเขาได้ให้กำเนิดออกมา ทั้งคู่เริ่มไม่สนใจตุ๊กตาตัวนั้น กระทั้งมาอิอายุได้ 5 ขวบ และเริ่มเล่นกับตุ๊กตาตัวดังกล่าว เหตุการณ์ประหลาด ๆ ก็เริ่มเกิดขึ้นครั้งแล้วครั้งเล่า แม้ว่าจะพยายามหาทางกำจัดตุ๊กตาตัวนั้น แต่มันก็ยังกลับมาได้อย่างไม่ทราบสาเหตุ!?
