: นักฆ่าฝีมือดี รอย โคดี้ (เบน ฟอสเตอร์) ได้รับแจ้งว่าเขาป่วยเป็นมะเร็งปอดและกำลังจะตายในไม ่ช้า หลังรู้ข่าวร้ายไม่นาน รอยถูกเจ้านายสั่งให้ไปเก็บเป้าหมายโดยห้ามใช้ปืนเด็ ดขาด เขาหารู้ไม่ว่าจริงๆ แล้วนั่นคือแผนการของเจ้านายเพื่อเก็บเขาแทน แต่นอกจากรอยจะหนีออกมาได้แล้ว เขายังช่วยเหลือ ร็อคกี้ (แอลล์ แฟนนิ่ง) หญิงสาววัย 19 ปีที่ถูกจับตัวไว้ที่นั่นด้วย ทั้งคู่เดินทางออกนอกเมืองไปยัง กัลเวสตัน บ้านเกิดของ รอย ซึ่งเขากะจะกบดานอยู่ที่นั่นสักพักแล้ววางแผนล้างแค้ น แต่การจะไปถึงกัลเวสตันได้นั้นไม่ง่ายอย่างที่คิด นอกจากจะถูกเหล่านักฆ่าตามล่า รอยและร็อคกี้ยังมีเหตุให้ต้องหยุดกลางทางหลายครั้ง หนึ่งในนั้นคือการแวะรับเอา ทิฟฟานี่ย์ (คู่แฝด อนิสตัน และ ทินสลี่ย์ ไพรซ์) น้องสาวของร็อคกี้ร่วมเดินทางไปยัง Galveston ด้วยกัน
