สาเหตุที่เกม Train Simulator 2016 นี้มี DLC เยอะนั้นก็เพราะว่าเขาใช้วิธีขาย DLC ตัวรถไฟพิเศษต่างๆจากทั่วโลก โดยในเกมหลักจริงๆจะมีรถไฟรุ่นต่างๆให้ใช้พอสมควร แต่ก็ยังไม่ครบทุกรุ่น ดังนั้นถ้าอยากจะมีรถไฟให้เล่นหลายๆรุ่นก็ต้องซื้อ DLC เอา ขบวนละ US$19.99 ตอนนี้ลด 40% เหลือขบวนละ US$11.99 ซึ่งรวมทั้งหมดแล้วก็แพงเกินแสนอยู่ดี นี่ถ้าไม่ลดราคาคงเกือบ 2 แสน
