เรื่องย่อ หลังจากไฟฟ้าดับโดยไม่รู้สาเหตุในเมืองดีทรอย ผ่านมาจนถึงตอนเช้า ลุค (เฮย์เดน คริสเต็นเซ่น) พบว่าเมืองที่เขาเคยอยู่ได้เปลี่ยนไปอย่างสิ้นเชิง ร่องรอยของสิ่งมีชีวิตได้ล่องหนหายไปอย่างไม่มีสาเหต ุจนที่นี้เกือบเป็น เมืองร้าง แต่เขาก็ได้เจอผู้คนที่เหลืออยู่เพียงน้อยนิดที่ไปรว มตัวกันที่บาร์แห่ง หนึ่ง

ผู้รอดชีวิตทั้งหมดต้องหาทางเอาชีวิตรอดจากเหตุการณ์ ที่ยังคงเป็นปริศนา ร่อยรอยเดียวที่พบคือกระเป๋าของคนจากเมืองชิคาโก ซึ่งนั้นเป็นจุดหมายของการออกเดินทาง ก่อนที่เวลาจะหมดลงพร้อมความมืดแห่งรัตติกาลอันสยดสย องจะปกคลุมขึ้นอีกครั้ง
