วิดีโอเกมซีรีส์ Doom เคยถูกนำมาสร้างเป็นภาพยนตร์แล้วครั้งหนึ่งในปี 2005
โดยมีดาราดังอย่าง Dwayne Johnson ร่วมแสดงด้วย แต่ก็ล้มเหลวทั้งในแง่รายได้และเสียงวิจารณ์
ปี 2019 ภาพยนตร์เรื่อง Doom ถูกนำกลับมาสร้างใหม่อีกครั้งในชื่อภาคว่า Doom: Annihilation
แต่รูปแบบเปลี่ยนไป เพราะเป็นหนังที่สร้างขึ้นในฟอร์แมตเป็นวิดีโอ-ดีวีดีโดยตรง ไม่ฉายโรงแต่อย่างใด (direct-to-video)

Doom: Annihilation ยังเป็นผลงานสร้างของค่าย Universal เช่นเดิม
เนื้อเรื่องอิงจากพล็อตของเกม Doom คือนาวิกโยธินอวกาศที่บุกไปยังฐานทัพบนดาวอังคาร
และต้องพบกับปีศาจจากต่างโลก แต่ก็เป็นเรื่องเฉพาะที่ไม่อิงกับเกมภาคใด (และ id Software ไม่ได้มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องกับหนังด้วย)
มีกำหนดออกแผ่นช่วงฤดูใบไม้ร่วงปลายปี 2019!!!
