เรย์ คินเซลลา(เควิน คอสต์เนอร์) ชาวไร่ข้าวโพดอายุ 36 ปีในรัฐไอโอว่าในปีปัจจุบัน (1989) ได้ยินเสียงประหลาดที่ดังมาจากไร่ข้าวโพดของเขา เสียงที่บอกว่า “ถ้าคุณสร้างมัน เขาจะมา” เรย์ตีความว่าเสียงนั้นเป็นคำแนะนำให้เขาสร้างสนามเบ สบอลในไร่ข้าวโพดของเขา เพราะนอกจากเสียงแล้วเขาก็เห็นภาพสนามเบสบอลวูบขึ้นม า เขาจึงปรึกษาภรรยาของเขาและต่างเห็นพ้องว่าถ้ามันเป็ นความฝันของเรย์เขาก็ควรสร้างมัน เมื่อเขาสร้างมันเสร็จ เรย์ก็พบว่ามีแขกมาเยี่ยมสนามเบสบอลของเขาซึ่งไม่ใช่ ใครที่ไหน โจ แจ็กสัน (เรย์ ลิอ็อตต้า) หรือผู้มีฉายาว่า “โจเท้าเปล่า” นักเบสบอลทีม ชิคาโก ไวท์ ซ็อกซ์ ที่ถูกตัดสินว่ามีความผิดฐานล้มบอล “ฺBlack Sox Scandal” ในเกมการแข่งขันเวิร์ลด์ ซีรีส์ ประจำปี 1919 การมาของโจ เท้าเปล่ามีที่มาเพราะโจเป็นนักเบสบอลขวัญใจของพ่อเข าที่เสียชีวิตไปแล้ว หลังจากนั้นโจก็ยังพานักเบสบอลในอดีตมาอีกหลายคนใสซ้ อมที่สนามแห่งความฝันนี้ อย่างไรก็ตามการสร้างสนามเบสบอลทำให้เรย์และครอบครัว ต้องขาดรายได้จากการที่จะได้ขายข้าวโพด ทำให้สถานการณ์การเงินเริ่มมีปัญหาจนอาจจะต้องเสียไร ่ไปทั้งหมด เรย์จึงต้องพยายามค้นหาให้ได้ว่าเสียงที่บอกมีความหม ายอะไร และใครที่จะมา

ระหว่างนี้เองเรย์ก็ได้ยินเสียงอีกและนำไปสู่การตามห าอดีตนักเขียนคนหนึ่ง เทอร้านซ์ มานน์ (เจมส์ เอิล โจห์น) เพราะเชื่อว่าเป็นปริศนาสำคัญ และเป็นผู้มีความฝันในวัยเด็กว่าจะเข้าไปชมเกมส์เบสบ อลในสนามแต่สนามไฟไหม้เสียก่อนเลยอดดู แต่ก็พบว่ามันนำพาไปสู่ปริศนาอื่นนั่นคือนำเขาทั้งสอ งคนไปเมืองอื่นเพื่อตามหาหมอแกรแฮม (เบิร์ต แลงคาสเตอร์) ซึ่งก่อนที่จะมาเป็นหมอเคยฝันจะเป็นนักเบสบอล แต่วิถีีชีวิตก็พาเขาไปเป็นหมอคนสำคัญของชุมชนเสียก่ อน แต่โชคร้่ายหมอได้เสียชีวิตไปนานแล้ว คืนก่อนกลับบ้านเรย์ออกมาเดินเล่น และเขาพบว่าบรรยากาศเปลี่ยนไปเป็นสมัย 1972 ซึ่งเป็นปีที่หมดแกรแฮมยังมีชีวิตอยู่และเรย์ก็ได้พบ กับหมอแต่หมอปฏิเสธที่จะตามเรย์มาที่สนามเบสบอลในไร่ ข้าวโพดของเรย์ ในระหว่างทางกลับบ้านความหวังที่เริ่มหมดไป ทั้งเรย์และมานน์กลับพบกับเรื่องเหลือเชื่อที่ทำให้ค วามหวังเริ่มกลับมา และเขาก็พบว่าทุ่งแห่งความหวังของเขามีปาฏิหาริย์ที่ กำลังเกิดขึ้ึ้นรอพวกเขาอยู่
