The Witcher เป็นเกมที่สร้างมาจากนิยายชื่อดังของโปแลนด์ในชื่อเด ียวกัน เขียนโดย Andrzej Sapkowski มีตัวเอกชื่อว่า Geralt
of Rivia ซึ่งเป็นตัวเอกในเกมเช่นเดียวกัน Geralt เป็น Witcher หรือนักล่าปีศาจที่มีพลังเหนือธรรมชาติ เพื่อนำมาใช้ในการต่อสู้กับ
พวกปีศาจ ซึ่งพลังดังกล่าวก็มีหลากหลายรูปแบบตามความถนัดของ The Witcher คนนั้นๆ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเวทมนตร์ การแปรธาตุ ปรุงยา
และ สร้างพิษหรือเชื้อโรค ซึ่ง Geralt นั้นเป็นหนึ่งใน Witcher ที่มีพลังและเก่งเป็นแนวหน้า แต่ว่าด้วยเหตุการณ์การต่อสู้ครั้งหนึ่งที่ทำ
ให้เขาหมดสติไป หลังจากฟื้นขึ้นมาเขาก็สูญเสียความทรงจำไป ซึ่งนั่นเป็นเนื้อเรื่องในภาคแรก ซึ่งหลังจากนั้นเขาก็จำได้และได้สูญเสีย
ร่างกายในสภาพเดิมไป ผมเปลี่ยนสีเป็นสีขาวเงิน จนผู้คนตั้งฉายาให้ใหม่ว่า the White Wolf สำหรับเรื่องราวภาคสองก็จะเป็นตอนต่อ
จากภาคแรก ซึ่งพวกของ Geralt จะต้องเผชิญหน้ากับกลุ่มนักฆ่า ที่มีเป้าหมายสังหารราชาแห่ง Foltest ซึ่งระบบของเกมก็จะเป็นแบบ
non-linear story ก็คือไม่ใช่เรื่องราวแบบเส้นตรง แต่จะมีเปลี่ยนแปลง พลิกแพลงได้ตามทางเลือกของผู้เล่น ซึ่งเป็นแนวที่นักเล่นเกม
RPG ตะวันตกชอบ (เหมือนจะกระทบเกม RPG ดังๆบางเกมที่ตรงเด่) โดยรวมตัวเกมใช้เวลาเล่นประมาณ 30-40 ชั่วโมง มีฉากจบต่าง
