รายละเอียดเรื่องย่อ/Synopsis
The Impossible จะย้อนกลับไปเมื่อปี 2004 กับเรื่องราวของครอบครัวๆ หนึ่งที่มาท่องเที่ยวในประเทศไทยในช่วงวันที่ 26 ธันวาคม โดยทั้งหมดกำลังเล่นน้ำในสระว่ายน้ำของโรงแรมกันอย่า งสนุกสนาน แต่แล้วสิ่งที่ไม่มีใครคาดคิดก็เกิดขึ้น เพราะช่วงเวลานั้นได้มีคลื่นยักษ์ขนาดใหญ่จากท้องทะเ ล โหมตรงมายังโรงแรมที่พวกกำลังพักผ่อนกันอยู่ แต่ด้วยความแรงและระดับความสูงของน้ำที่มีมากมายเหลื อเกิน จึงทำให้ทั้งครอบครัวต้องจมอยู่ใต้คลื่นยักษ์นั้นไปใ นที่สุดตามเหตุการณ์ ดั่งกล่าวนี้
แต่ด้วย เรื่องของโชคชะตาและความโชคดีหลายๆ อย่าง จึงทำให้ มาเรีย (รับบทโดย นาโอมิ วัตต์ส) สามารถมีชีวิตรอดจากคลื่นยักษ์นั้นได้ แต่หลังจากนั้น เธอเองก็ต้องออกตามหาลูกๆ รวมถึงสามีของเธอ รวมทั้งยังต้องตั้งสติและเตรียมทำใจไว้ล่วงหน้าอย่าง เข้มแข็ง เพื่อรับมือกับสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นด้วย
