Rope คือหนังฆาตกรรมที่การฆ่าถูกมองว่าเป็นศิลปะ ตัวละครเชื่อในทฤษฎีของ Nietzsche และมีแนวคิดว่าการฆาตกรรมผู้ที่ด้อยกว่าไม่ใช่เรื่อง ผิดอะไร
Rope คือละครเวทีที่มาในรูปแบบภาพยนตร์ ฉากเปิดด้วยการฆาตกรรมและนำศพซ่อนไว้ในหีบเพื่อรอเวล าขนย้าย ก่อนจะดำเนินเรื่องตลอดทั้งเรื่องผ่านงานเลี้ยงที่ผู ้มาร่วมงานล้วนเกี่ยวข้องกับผู้ตาย โดยหนังเล่าเรื่องด้วยเทคนิคเดียวกับละครเวทีและเป็น Long Take ยาว ๆ ตลอดทั้งเรื่อง (เหมือนดูละครเวทีเป๊ะเลยครับ)
หนังอาจจะมาพร้อมกับตัวละครที่ทำให้คนดูหงุดหงิดเหลื อเกินกับการแสดงพิรุธ รวมถึงบทสนทนาในงานเลี้ยงที่ส่วนมากจะไม่เกี่ยวข้องก ับเหตุฆาตกรรมแต่เป็นการสนทนาเพื่อให้เรื่องดำเนินต่ อไปอย่างเป็นธรรมชาติ (อาจจะมีถกเถียงกันเรื่องแนวคิด และฉากสนทนาที่ทำให้เห็นถึงอุปนิสัยและการงานตัวละคร )
